John Beard 'Mercedes II' romantic The scene is noirish –Born in Wales in 1943, John Beard is a prestigious Sydney London based artist who specialises in semi abstraction and portraiture. At 19 years old, Beard won the Welsh National Art Scholarship and proceeded to study at the Royal College of Art in London. His compelling style usually features dark, monochrome washes where the subject seems on the brink of disappearing. His work is now held in collections all over the world and in 2007 he was awarded
